- Mirror-copy encounter
- First cue
- A mirror begins to crack and a matching figure appears on the other side, reflecting the player’s movement.
- Primary response
- Control your movement, decide which held item matters before the copy completes, and leave enough room to react when the mirror sequence changes.
Step-by-step response
- Stop and identify the mirror before crossing the room blindly.
- Equip the item you intend to carry through the interaction before the copy settles.
- Use small movements so the mirrored copy stays easy to read.
- Collect the copied item only after confirming the encounter has finished.
Field notes
- The copied figure follows the player’s movement rather than acting like a normal corridor rush.
- Player reports show the mirror producing a second version of the held item, but exact item behavior may differ between runs.
- Badge names linked by current community routes include It’s Still You, Smashing Deal, and Annihilation.
Choose the held item first
Portrait is most useful when approached as an inventory decision. Equip the intended item before the mirror copy completes instead of cycling through the hotbar during the sequence.
Do not risk a scarce item solely on an unconfirmed shortcut. Use an expendable item while learning the movement pattern, then make a dedicated badge attempt.
Movement and spacing
Short, deliberate inputs make the mirrored movement easier to understand. Leave the center of the room clear so a teammate does not force you into the mirror path.
In multiplayer, agree who is interacting before the mirror cracks. Multiple players moving around the same point can make it difficult to tell which action the copy is following.
Badge routes
Use the badge index as the route ledger rather than assuming every mirror interaction awards the same badge. The required held item or follow-up action can change the objective.
For Annihilation attempts, current reports point to carrying the copied Crucifix onward. Keep that attempt separate from casual item testing so the route is easy to reproduce.
Questions players ask
What does Portrait do?
Portrait creates a mirror copy that follows the player’s movement and can reproduce the item held during the encounter.
Which item should I hold?
Hold the item required by the badge route you are attempting. Use a low-cost item first if you are only learning the encounter.
Is Portrait the same as a rush entity?
No. The current encounter is built around mirrored movement and item state, so controlled positioning matters more than reaching a hiding place.
